I was in the car recently and heard “Young Hearts Run Free” by Candi Staton on the radio. I was struck by some of the lyrics.

Young hearts, to yourself be true
It’s high time, just one crack at life
My mind must be free, to learn all I can about me
I’m gonna love me for the rest of my days

Learning about me is really important – we – ourselves – are all we have to get through life – we are the tool, the plan, the mechanism, the process, the resources that keep us going.Yet how many of us don’t really know ourselves very well.
