Getting to grips with the to-do list
I was so busy training recently that I ended up with just one evening to catch up with admin and prepare for workshop delivery, client and supplier meetings. My to-do list had 16 items on it, all critical for the following few days.
You could be completely overwhelmed by a to-do list like that. I saw it differently. A bit like being in a sweetie shop with so much choice. Today I can have liquorice and tomorrow toffees. Having a long list gives me a huge choice over what I do and the order that I do it in. So as I worked though it and my feeling changed minute by minute I selected things I felt like doing.
The trick is to look at things differently, in a positive light, rather than being weighed down by negative perceptions.
What stopping you getting to grips with your to-do list? How could you look at it differently? What steps do you need to take to tick off just one thing? How will that help you be more successful?
